Surprise
When you want to stir up feelings of romance with your lover, the element of surprise can be useful. Something good often gets better when it’s unexpected. Very few people don’t like surprises, especially when they are pleasant ones. And especially when they come from someone we love.
Keeping your gift or plan a secret certainly is one way to surprise your partner, but that’s not the only way!
Doing a normal thing in an abnormal way or location is another way to create that amazed look we like to see in their eyes. Or you could find something that’s really odd and do it as if it were a normal routine thing.
Here’s an idea that came from a picture on Facebook. Somebody used one of those heart shaped boxes that Valentine’s chocolates come in. But they’ve taken the candy out and replaced it with a chicken wing dinner! Now suppose your significant other didn’t care for chocolate and wasn’t too big on “mushy” holiday activities. But he/she does love chicken…
That’s both funny and unexpected. And it will probably become a cherished and romantic memory in later years.
